Sterculia megistophylla

Sterculia megistophylla
Malvaceae
Malvales

A tree native to Borneo with upper surface of (papery to leathery) leaves hairless except for their mid-ribs while lower leaf surfaces are densely hairy.

Have briefly seen Sterculia flowers in person before but did not smell them. Am quite intrigued to find that the genus "Sterculia" is named after the Roman god of manure, Sterculius, with reference to the smell of their flowers (o.O)
