Oriental Magpie-robin juvenile (Copsychus saularis)

Oriental Magpie-robin juvenile (Copsychus saularis)

Have seen the adults a few times from afar and this time it was an adult and a juvenile hopping from branch to branch of a Adansonia digitata, then flying back and forth from the Adansonia and between the greenery on another side of the pathway. Wonder what was up?

Read that they are mainly insectivorous, which reminds me of the first time I saw a Oriental Magpie-robin, it was holding (what seems to be) an insect in its mouth. It was said that they have been observed to practice anting. Not sure if the reasons for doing so are proven but the hypotheses are interesting
