Corymbia ptychocarpa

Corymbia ptychocarpa
Myrtaceae
Myrtales

Synonym: Eucalyptus ptychocarpa. Found that the flowers (the stamens?) of this specie come in either deep pink or red or white, and that their woody fruit capsules are called "gum nuts" which eventually explode to disperse small lightweight seeds primarly via wind dispersal.

Looking up on this specie makes me wonder how taxonomists decide that there is sufficient variation for taxonomic changes - thresholds? Like how there were changes to Shorea classification? Okay much questions and blabbering -
