Flower and fruits (fruitlets?) of Uvaria grandiflora
Flower and fruits (fruitlets?) of Uvaria grandiflora
Annonaceae
Magnoliales
A native vulnerable woody climber or shrub. The flower looks very different from a (hypothetical) modern flower. A time-lapse of the fruit formation upon successful fertilizing would probably be interesting to watch. Ants are feeding on honeydew produced by the mealybugs but which came first?
